Copyright Transfer Agreement

Authors who submit manuscripts to the Journal of Contemporary Islamic Law and Studies (JCILS) agree to the following terms:

1. Originality and Authorship

The authors declare that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published previously
  • The manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere
  • All authors have significantly contributed to the work and approved the final version

2. Copyright Transfer

Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, the authors agree to transfer the copyright of the article to the journal.

This transfer includes the rights to:

  • Publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in all forms and media
  • Archive the article in databases and indexing services
  • Allow third-party use under the applicable license

3. Licensing Terms

All published articles in JCILS are distributed under the terms of the:

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Under this license:

  • Users are free to share and adapt the material
  • Proper attribution to the original author(s) must be provided
  • Any derivative work must be distributed under the same license

4. Author Rights

Despite the copyright transfer, authors retain the right to:

  • Use their article for educational and research purposes
  • Share the published version on personal or institutional repositories
  • Include the article in books or future works with proper acknowledgment of initial publication in JCILS

5. Responsibility and Liability

Authors are responsible for:

  • The accuracy and integrity of the content
  • Ensuring that the work does not infringe on any copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Obtaining permission for any third-party materials used

6. Agreement Confirmation

By submitting the manuscript, the authors confirm that they have read and agreed to this Copyright Transfer Agreement.
